Working from a secluded studio on five acres of wooded land in a rural hamlet near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, Banker is known for her large, vibrant abstract works that evoke emotions and tug at the core of one’s soul. Her work elicits tension and movement with critics describing her work as “powerful, intense, and thought provoking”.

Influenced by 20th century abstract expressionists including Mark Rothko and Robert Motherwell, Banker’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries and major art shows in New York City, Miami, Charlotte, Rochester, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, France, and Lisbon, Portugal among other major cities.

States the artist, “I am passionate about the existence and mystery of the human soul and our life long journey back to true self. My work is about awareness, self-discovery, and our journeys inward. It is about the layers that lie beneath our physical exteriors, beneath the surface of conversations, thoughts and ideas.”
