Homeschool Art Classes – Fall 2019
It’s Time To Register for Gallery 27’s Next HomeSchool Session!
Gallery 27’s Homeschool Art program offers art education in an environment where giggles and grins are encouraged. Our art history based curriculum is taught by professional, college educated instructors using artist quality art supplies and materials. We specialize in finding your child’s individual artistic expression within the curriculum by allowing exploration of variety of mediums such as paint (Watercolor/acrylics), paper, clay, graphite, pastels, ink, charcoal, colored pencil, and fiber. Each semester ends with an exhibition of student work at Gallery 27.
Fall 2019 Curriculum
Week 1-2: Art & Intuition
This lesson is an exercise in intuitive drawing and writing based on the art of Jean (aka Hans) Arp, a pioneer of abstract art.
Week 3-4: Art in the Shadows
The stark contrast and the half hidden mystery of a silhouette is a natural attraction for students.
Week 5-6: Block Print Koinobori
In this lesson, students design a “scale”-shaped block from soft block printing material and apply it repetitively to outdoor-safe fabric that has been cut in the shape of a fish.
Week 7-8: Picasso Inspired Sculpture
By looking through the vast array of figurative paintings done by Picasso during his cubist phase, students may find many possibilities for soft sculpture adaptations.
